Description: LEI provided design support services to Russell Marine in the replacement of the Mallory Pier at the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, NY. The pier serves as a wave attenuation structure for the existing boat basin, referred to as the “Hauge Basin”. During the construction of the new pier, Russell Marine was required to maintain a wave attenuation system in order to protect the basin.

LEI provided design drawings and calculations for the temporary structure. The wave attenuator provided seamless protection to the Basin throughout the project, without any impedance to the reconstruction. LEI also assisted on the review and redesign of a number of other structural items, including the safety ladders and friction collars.
