About Project
Location: Pennsauken Township NJ
Description: LEI was onsite after a barge hit the Buckeye Pennsauken Dock in Pennsauken Township, NJ. After a visual above water and underwater inspection, conducted by divers, it was determined that the dock was completely destroyed. LEI worked closely with Buckeye to come up with a solution to replace the dock that was optimized and would protect the structure from future impacts. It was critical that the dock is reconstructed before the winter months hit and construction would have been more difficult.
LEI designed a new dock that included an independent full face fender system. We also secured all the necessary permits from the applicable agencies, including the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. LEI designed the pile foundations, dock, approach trestle, walkways, pile jackets and crane support. We assisted Buckeye in the bidding process and evaluation of proposals. LEI conducted site visits during the construction and provided a U.S. Coast Guard letter of completion for the marine portion of the project.
